nohnigefearxv76 reacted to brians in Wise Disk Cleaner BIG PROBLEM really annoyed me almost erasing all files!!
    Hello,

I am using Wise Disk Cleaner is really very indignant and disgusted by me this stupid tool I deleted (removed) at least 50% of all video (avi) and mp4 file, which were at least 300 GB (gigabytes) of data very valuable for me!

How did I become this fatal problem? There was this fact that I ran module: Advanced CLEANER - Msconfig I box: FIND INVALID SHORTCUTS (SLOW) and FIND EMPTY (0 BYTES Slower) and there are a few extensions (/. Diz, * tmp and etc ...) to choose stayed all factory-set to anything I did not set forth.

And like me to remove some avi files without my knowledge!

So your program uses FAKE functions on stripping avi & mp4 video files without my knowledge?

Wise Disk Cleaner is really a very bad tool that you can not help but rather will aggressively breaking down me and my HDD.

How To Make Me Wise Disk Cleaner for damage caused'll be there to recover to solve problems and mainly 100% recovery of my lost video files you deleted your software: Disk Cleaner Wise without my knowledge. I never disagreed that Wise Disk Cleaner removed my avi files without my knowledge!

I look forward to feedback to solve this very annoying problem too

nohnigefearxv76 reacted to leonard5185 in What are "traces" in Disk Cleaner?
In Disk Cleaner, there is a section to clean "files" and another for "traces". Am familiar with the named files on disk that can be a folder, file, text, executable, DLL, etc., but can you describe just what the "traces" are? I never heard of them... I looked in the online help, but no explanation there...

    Thank you.

nohnigefearxv76 reacted to my2cents in WDC Affecting SFC /SCANNOW Results?
    Hello all,

Just consider this an FYI; however, if the admins feel any corrective action might be appropriate, then please have at it! Anyway, I just did a clean install of Window 7 SP1 and applied all Windows Updates to current. Once done, I immediately made the following adjustments:

Removed (e.g., unticked) the following Win 7 features:

    Internet Explorer 8
    Media Features (all)
    Windows Gadget Platform

I aslo removed all unnecessary options (as advised by WDC) which primarily included additional languages and sample pictures, music, and videos.

So, after all of the above was completed, I decided to run sfc /scannow and the results were very specific about finding uncorrectable errors in the language and samples areas and those areas are exactly where the WDC optional removals reside.

In summary, I can see where this might cause an issue for those who use and rely on scf /scannow for troublrshooting purposes; however, for me, it is not an issue and I have no desire to take any corrective action myself. Also, I have attached a dump of my sfc scan results for your review and consideration, just in case the admins feel some corrective action might be warrranted at this point. I am currently using WDC 7.89.520. Thanks and good luck to all!

I am using the latest version of Wise Care 365 (Version 2.88.232).

I am using the Disk Cleaner utility.

The utility indicates that on my C: drive there are "Found many recoverable files"

I start the utility to erase the traces of the "Found many recoverable files".

    There is a success message.

I do not delete any more files for while.

I re-open the Disk Cleaner utility and it reports "Found many recoverable files".

How can this be if I just deleted them all with the utility and have not yet left any more to be discovered at the time?

Perplexing if this utility is actually working properly or not.

I am using a Samsung 830 128 GB SATA III SSD as my C: drive.

    Any suggestions or answers?

Kind of hard to imagine that there isn't a thread about this, but as I didn't see one... . I'd like the option of minimizing WDC to my System Tray in the same way that Wise Care can be minimized to the System Tray. It makes regular using of the program that much easier.

    Thanks in advance for listening.

    Hello all,

Since I do not use System Restore points, is there any way to disable WDC from automatically creating one before attempting file removals under certain conditions. I always go back in and disable System Restore and delete the newly created restore point but it seems like an option should be made available for those of us that rely more on a System Image restoral to fix our issues. A great product BTW!

    Thanks,

In the Advance Cleaning section almost always the module ends with the line that 'some files will be removed at the next restart'. My question is this:  does it have to be a restart, or will a logoff serve the same purpose?

nohnigefearxv76 reacted to Sardoc in Windows Update Cleanup request?
    Hello

I'd like to make a feature request for Wise Disk Cleaner.

In October 2013, Microsoft released an add-on for Windows Disk Cleanup utility, called Windows Update Cleanup. It was built into Windows 8.1, and an update was made for Windows 7 (KB2852386). More information here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2852386/en-us

It removes old files which are no longer needed from Winsxs folder, just like sp1cln.exe or compcln.exe tools did. However, there was no such update made for Vista. This is what bothers me, because while Win 7 more or less keeps its size, Vista grows like mad after every update (including .net updates). I had asked MS if there were any plans for this update for Vista, but it doesn't look like it. Again, doesn't make sense to me, because I'm sure Vista would handle this addon just fine, but it's being artificially killed by MS.

Would it be possible to have this kind of tool developed in Wise Disk Cleaner? I'm not gonna lie, Vista users would most probably appreciate this a lot. I'd expect around 1-3gb HDD space is wasted by old files, which we no longer need.

nohnigefearxv76 reacted to acoustic words in Wise disk defrag is ignoring my drive
When I run the defragmenting program in Wise Disk Cleaner 8.06.576, it defrags my E drive with no problem, but it seems to be ignoring my C drive completely. (Yes, I have both C and E drives checked on the options!). It analyzes and optimizes E drive, and says it's "analyzing" C drive, but nothing is actually happening on C drive -- analysis remains at 0% indefinitely. I've tried running a defrag only (no optimization) on C drive; I've tried running the program (defrag alone and defrag and optimize) on C drive only (no E drive); I've even uninstalled Wise Disk Cleaner and reinstalled a fresh copy of it -- nothing has helped so far. I think this started with 8 Beta, and I've hoped that each update would solve the issue, but so far, they haven't. Any thoughts?

(1/4)-Defragment - This operation will concatenate fragmented files into one chunk so as to accelerate file-reading speed and free additional available space though a little. (Files that can't be moved or a...re locked will be skipped.)

(2/4)-Quick Optimization - This operation will defragment fragmented files and rearrange small files (only) to concatenate storage areas to free up disk space.

(3/4)-Full Optimization - This operation will defragment fragmented files and rearrange all files (fragmented or not) to concatenate storage areas to free up disk space.

(4/4)-Analyze - This operation will only analyze and show you the disk fragments.

    PORTABLE version bugs, all MODEs:
The "clean with 1-click" problem (wrong language and no tooltips) will appear when using the portable version. It doesn't appear in the installed version.
It seems the memory leak problem will appear when: - using the portable version
    - pagefile.sys is disabled
    - every options is ticked
    - usercustom.ini is used with a lot of customized rules... the more rules are present, the more the problem will be visible
It doesn't appear in the installed version.
ButtonMinimize, ButtonMaximize, ButtonClose, ButtonRestore and probably also ButtonMenu aren't translated (the tooltip appears in English instead than in my language, I can't verify menu because it is menu also in Italian). I don't know where I can check ButtonYes, ButtonNo and ButtonOK.
PORTABLE version bugs, CLEAR MODE:The string "Cleanup your computer regularly." isn't present in the English.ini, hence it can't be translated in other languages. The same is also valid for "Custom" - "Scan customized entries" and all strings in "Support center".
When I select "Custom" only, WDC won't scan it. This works as expected in classic mode.
(After a scan) When changing language, strings remain with the previous language; when I hover the cursor over them, the language changes. After a scan, "scan again" button will appear next to the clean button. When I click it, I expect WDC to scan again... Instead it clears the screen and I must click the scan button.
This works as expected in classic mode.
WDC_report function is broken: (after a scan) I can right-click everywhere but the EXPORT button won't appear. In classic mode, I can right-click everywhere and the export button appears.
ALSO: if I click on a section, the create-report function will appear only if I click on a result, BUT the WDC_report will show results only for that section.
How can we save all results?
In classic mode, all results will appear in the report.
