xilolee got a reaction from Gabrielle in Can't Download. "Internet Explorer has stopped working", Can't use Chrome extension, Accidental Deletion
Hi gabrielle!
1) Run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt, wait until it finishes, check the result (and send it to us), reboot your pc.
2) Copy the following text into notepad, save the file as W7SP1UltimateDefaultServices.bat (it should not be saved as txt and its icon should not be a paper), run it as an administrator, check if there are any error messages and paste them here... If there are no errors, reboot your pc.

xilolee got a reaction from UCanFixIt in Can't start windows search or indexing
Hi guys!
IIRC, Error 87 appears when the command is mistyped.
Example, restore-health (the hyphen should not be there):
C:\>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restore-Health Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.16384 Image Version: 6.3.9600.16384 Error: 87 The restore-health option is not recognized in this context. For more information, refer to the help. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log Those commands should be run from an elevated command prompt and typed correctly:
sfc /scannow Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth -
xilolee reacted to UCanFixIt in Wise Registry Cleaner 8 beta is released
Hi Wisecleaner_admin (and all),
Here are the results of my personal beta testing:
Installation:
No issues to report The beta installation overwrites the existing installation and appears as v8.03 in the add/remove programs area Users wishing to revert will have to reinstall the previous version Interface has been updated Options:
No issues to report New features added Performance:
No issues to report Tested Cleaner and Defrag Did not test System Tuneup (same options offered as previous version) Conclusion:
I think I'll keep it! Recommendation:
Post a list of enhancements in this beta announcement
One more thing. This announcement has been posted in two places. That means, you will be get feedback in two different places and users may not be able to see the big picture without browsing two different threads. IMHO, there should only be one (actual) thread with two links to it. That way, all responses are combined.
Best regards,

xilolee got a reaction from Jayzx in How to make screenshots (aka snapshots) and post them here in this forum, either through the forum itself or through Wise PC 1st Aid
HOW TO POST A SCREENSHOT (OR A FILE...) WHEN YOU ARE LOGGED INTO THE FORUM
If you are posting inside the forum, you have two methods:
1) attach files directly from the forum
- when replying, click more reply options
- click choose files... button, under attach files
- choose your file and click open (ok)
- wait until the file is uploaded
- click add to post.
If you are using MSIE 11, there could be a problem: you must first disable the advanced text feature; this is an error in the forum code (probably it is not updated to work with MSIE 11).
2) upload your image to a website (designed for it), then post its special code that it's usually something like:
{img}http://www.link.something/your-image/{/img} I changed the square brackets [] with the curly brackets {} because the forum doesn't accept them as a code, but you should use the square brackets [] As an example, there is tinypic.com that offers this service.
For non-image files, there is speedyshare.com that offers this service, as an example.

xilolee got a reaction from UCanFixIt in missing dll pop ups
Hi dino!
If TBupdater.dll, backgroundcontainer.dll, daemonprocess.exe:
1) Remove mobogenie, OpenCandy, Quick Downloader, Conduit.
From control panel, programs.
2) Download/run these programs:
Full scan with your antivirus
adwcleaner (click)
Junkware removal tool (click)
superantispyware free (click)
sophos virus removal tool free (click)
MBAM free (click)
stinger 32 bit (click) or stinger 64 bit (click)
(according to your windows BIT version)
MS Safety Scanner 32 bit (click) or MS Safety Scanner 64 bit (click)
(according to your windows BIT version)
Adwcleaner is usually sufficient to solve the problem (it's fast and easy).
Anyway, other scans don't hurt!
Keep us informed.

xilolee reacted to UCanFixIt in java script
Hi Neil,
It sounds like you might have removed the flash player add-on from whatever browser you are using. Please understand that Oracle Java is a completely different program and it is not required to view YouTube videos. In fact, I do not have it installed and I can view all YouTube videos just fine. With that said, please go here and download the Adobe Flash Player:
Adobe Flash Player
Make sure you uncheck the optional McAfee offer before downloading.
Good luck.

Hi valmick!
You can try:
1) Download adwcleaner portable (click) and run it.
2) Download wise care 365 portable (click), extract it and put it on your desired/preferred folder.
3) Create a system restore point (or let it create by WiseCare365, it should ask it to you the first time you run it)
4) Double left-click wisecare365.exe, click custom checkup, select/tick all entries (or the entries that you prefer), click ok, click checkup now, wait until the scan finishes, check the results, untick the ones you are not sure to fix, click fix now.
5) Click the third tab at top: system tuneup
On the left, click the fourth tab: startup manager
Remove unnecessary items (keep enabled antivirus and processor items)
6) Launch sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt (and wait that it finishes). If it shows errors, show them here.
7) Defrag your hard disks (it may take hours... Try first the OS partition only).
Keep us informed.

xilolee reacted to UCanFixIt in "Mark Solved" Option Now Available to Members
Hello all members,
The "Mark Solved" option has been activated in the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board. Now originating posters (OPs) can select their own "Best Answer."
How it works:
Each member response to an originating poster's issue will now include a "Mark Solved" button that can only be seen by the OP (see image1). If a specific response solves the OPs issue, he/she can simply click the Mark Solved button for that specific response and it will automatically do two things:
1. It will update the index to show the OPs issue as "Answered." (see image2)
2. It will add the "Best Answer" to the top of the OPs post. (see image3)
This new feature could really benefit members or guests that are looking for solutions while browsing or searching the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board.
Note: The Wise Specific Product Boards do not have this feature enabled.

xilolee reacted to garioch7 in [Solved - Win7 sp1 x64] APS Daemon.exe error MSVCR80
Hello BillyPennsbrother:
Welcome to the Wise Care Forum. Sounds to me like you just upgraded your iTunes to the latest version. I spent five hours getting the problems created by the failed install solved. Essentially, you have to thoroughly remove all Apple software from your computer and then start reinstalling your Apple apps. If you google the missing file name (which is not missing by the way), you will see that the Apple Support Forums are full of complaints about this "malware" update. This is not a Windows problem. It appears that the iTunes uninstaller for the version being updated deregisters its Mobile App Support Service before stopping it and that causes huge problems. There is an uninstall order to be followed, which did not work for me. I wound having to uninstall and reinstall all Apple software on my wife's computer and now everything is working fine.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you make out. Have a great day.
Regards,
-Phil

xilolee got a reaction from UCanFixIt in Issue with Disk Eraser
If you check the screenshots I sent, it is included.
Anyway, Windows 8.1 x64 (the pc has been bought in november 2012 with Win8 x64).
It seems ucanfixit has got the same system of mine and yours.
FYI, I'm a moderator on this forum BUT I'm not a Wise employee, just like ucanfixit.
We are here to try to help you (and other users), if possible, but without complete informations we can't.

xilolee got a reaction from UCanFixIt in [solved - WinXP SP3 x86] Error event ID 1500 profile cannot be loaded
start, run, control userpasswords2 (enter)
Right click on a user, Group membership tab, you can choose the properties of your profiles.
You should create a third profile and use it to import correctly things from a profile to another.
You can import your preferences from that profile:
1) control panel, system, system properties, advanced tab, user profiles, settings, select the profile to copy, copy to, new profile).
2) Copying ntuser.dat files (I don't remember actually full names)
I don't know the differences between the two methods, but I actually used the second on a friend's pc (few days ago).
Before you delete the (old) profile, make sure the new profile got the functions/settings that you have set in the original profile (or if you only need to do some little changes).
The one you prefer
If you are using Outlook express, like my friend, you should import your emails, preferences, and so forth, from it (there's an accurate article on MS website support.microsoft.com, that I used).

xilolee got a reaction from my2cents in About the Posts in This Category (and others)
1) You should know that people is lazy/misinformed
2) I think the hardware details are taken from the program (W.PC1stAid). Unfortunately, it can't get more details like: complete informations about the error, when it happens and when it started to happen, what tries have been made to resolve it, what programs have been installed recently, what they think ( ) and so on.
3) See 1
4) That's quite normal, given the nature of the program (W.PC1stAid)
5) Yes, this is very annoying
I think the majority of users installs the program, sends the problem, then uninstalls the program or doesn't know that there was an answer (or worst, it doesn't care).
6) I didn't understand this point
They don't say that because they write from it, so for them it is normal to not write it.
