Disk Cleaner version 11.1.4.830 installer blocked by Windows Defender

I can download but not install the upgrade due to Windows Defender giving the following result as the reason: 

PUA:Win32/Puamson

However, Malwarebytes does not find anything wrong with it.

I can confirm,

Both the download from the official website and  from the MajorGeeks mirror.

Windows defender on both windows 10 and 11 are flagging the installer

Sorry about that. We think it is a false positive, and we will contact MS to fix it soon.

1. Please temporarily disable (turn off) the real-time protection of Windows Defender
2. Restore Wise Disk Cleaner from Defender's quarantine area.
3. Add Wise Disk Cleaner to the exclusion list in Windows Defender
4. Turn on the real-time protection.

As now Nov 2024 Windows will deleted WDC when you intall completed and used for one time only after. I 'v seen that WDC product is very good to

Hi!

I made scans of Wise disk cleaner 11.1.7.833  installer with windows 10 defender, superantispyware free, malwarebytes free, virustotal: all results were clean.

Then I installed it and selected almost all options, run the scan, erased everything.

Closed and reopened: it was there.

Then I also scanned the installation folder (with MS Win10 defender): no problems detected.

 

Anyway, if you still can not use the installed program, you can use the portable version: https://downloads.wisecleaner.com/soft/WDCFree_11.1.7.833.zip
