JesseAroto reacted to wisecleaner_admin in How to speed up your PC
Lots of members ask the same question in our forum - My computer run very slow, how can I solve it.
Actually, it is easy, just run Wise Care 365, and click some buttons.
    1) Click Check Up Now to check up your system, then click Fix Now to clean system.
    2) Click System Tuneup-->System Optimizer-->Optimize. If you want to restore settings, just click System Default.

    3) Click System Tuneup-->Startup Manager-->Startup, disable useless startup programs.

    4) Click System Tuneup-->Startup Manager-->Services, in this tab, you will see four suggestions:
Enable - System often use this service, we suggest you enable it.
Disable - This service can be disabled safely.
Keep - Maintain this service current status, you don't need to change it. If you confirm this service is useless, you don't need it, you can disable it.
No suggestion - We don't give any suggestion for third-party services, if you confirm the service is useless, you don't need to run it when PC starts, you can disable it.
Anyway, you can restore your operation in Records tab.

    5) Click System Tuneup-->Context Menu, disable context menu of third-party programs.

    6) Click System Tuneup-->Disk Defrag, it will spend long time, suggest you just defrag drive C.
    7) Click System Tuneup-->Registry Defrag, be careful, it need to reboot your system.
    8) If your PC still slow, you can try Wise PC 1stAid, the last one icon "Running speed of PC is too slow", when you reboot system, you will be shocked , your PC just like a new one.
Be careful, before you use this function, you must to read its Notice carefully. Because, this operation will disable most IE plugins/extensions, most third-party services, most startup programs. It means some programs which you installed, will not run well.

If all above steps cannot speed up your PC, I think your PC's hardware are out of date.
In this case, increase your physical memory to 4GB may be useful.

Since version 4.23, the wiseboot assistent is now a service. (boottime.exe) . If this service is only needed to measure the boot time, why not implement a routine to shutdown it after the boot? It's not a good implementation having a service running all the time if it's only needed on system startup, I think... Any sugestions?

JesseAroto reacted to Rosika in Problems with virtual router
    Hello altogether,

I´ve got a problem with VirtualRouterPlus. Perhaps there´s someone who can help.

I connect to the internet exclusively via a web-stick (Aldi Web-Stick Model S 4012, Manufacturer: HUAWEI E1550 HSDPA USB Stick). I run WIN 8.1, 64bit on my PC.
What I want to do is give an internet-connection to my laptop as well without having to reconnect the web-stick each time I switch between PC and laptop.
    I want to use my laptop (Linux/Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 64bit and WIN7, 64bit, Dual-Boot).
Therefore I thought of solving this problem with the help of a virtual router.
So I decided to employ VirtualRouterPlus and VirtualRouter Manager.

I actually succeed in establishing a connection. The laptop recognizes the existence of the virtual WLAN. It also connects to it.
And VirtualRouter Manager on my host-PC says:"Peers connected: (Laptop)". So the connection really is established.
I can access files and folders from my host PC. That really works.
But for some reason no internet-connection can be established.
It seems as if some sort of interconnection of my Huawei web-stick-adapter with the virtual router-adapter is missing.

Can someone help me? Any suggestions are welcome

    Greetings
    Rosika

    To all and new members.
It will help us incredibly much if you describe what operating system you have
and perhaps its hardware. You can do it in 'Signature' box. Here is how:

    1. Top right click on your name.

    2. Select 'My Settings'.

    3. 'Signature' on the left (center)

In this way we can better take us to the 'root' of the problem and then solve it faster.

    Thank you in advance

JesseAroto reacted to Config in Tips: To manually start Windows XP with a clean boot
How to Recover Deleted Files in Windows For Free? Check this video

To manually start Windows XP with a clean boot, follow these steps:
Step 1: Start the System Configuration Utility
Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed. Step 2: Configure selective startup options
In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup. Click to clear the Process SYSTEM.INI File check box. Click to clear the Process WIN.INI File check box. Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box. Verify that Load System Services and Use Original BOOT.INI are checked. Click the Services tab. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box. Click Disable All, and then click OK. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer. Step 3: Log on to Windows
If you are prompted, log on to Windows. When you receive the following message, click to select the Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows start check box, and then click OK.

Notes You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows starts. The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run every time Windows starts. Choose the Normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility. Step 4: Optional step to disable features
If the clean boot fixed the error, you do not have to perform this step.

Important If your problem is not fixed and you do have to follow this step, it permanently removes all restore points from your computer. The System Restore feature uses restore points to restore your computer to an earlier state. If you remove the restore points, you can no longer restore Windows to an earlier state.

This step temporarily disables Microsoft features such as Plug and Play, networking, event logging, and error reporting.
Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed. Click the General tab, click to clear the Load System Services check box, and then click OK. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer. If these steps helped you start your computer in a clean-boot state, you are finished. If these steps did not help, go to the “Next Steps” section. If you have to return your computer to a normal startup state, go to “Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state”.
Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state
After you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
Click Start, and then click Run. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed. Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.

    Hi,

I recently installed Wise Registry Cleaner 8 to rid my registry of faulty entries.

I have to be honest I was very impressed, however my PC was running fairly fast but I thought I'd run the registry defrag whilst I was at it.

Now it has completed, it has slowed my machine dramatically, that my bootup speed and program start speeds are at least x10 worse. My PC booted in 45 seconds with no lag starting programs but after the defrag it takes nearly 5 minutes and programs (like firefox) which were usually instant are now take a minute or so.

JesseAroto reacted to donut in How to Fix a Flickering Laptop Screen?
To fix the flickering problem, you should first check the laptop cables for loose connections. Often, it has been reported that the color changes of the monitor are due to faulty wires. It is advisable to disconnect the cables from the connectors, connect again, back and forth, to check if the problem is due to faulty wires. If the screen shows the same problem, when the pins are inserted and taken out, it is usually due to a broken wire or fault within the cable. Hence, cable replacement can do the work in resolving this problem.

Another seemingly less important, but very possible reason for the flickering problem in computer screens is interference of magnetic fields from other gadgets. Yes, check if near your laptop, you haven't placed speakers, fluorescent lights, cell phones, radios and any other electrical device. If it is so, you must remove any such interfering electrical gadgets away from your laptop. Studies have proved that cell phones do cause screen flickering.

So it is good to keep the work area of your laptop, absolutely devoid of such gadgets. Also, sometimes, a fan in another cubicle can cause a flicker on your screen. This may seem quite amusing, but it is a fact that interference from magnetic fields causes a great deal of flickering.

One of the major reasons for laptop flickering is the problem in display settings, when some computers are upgraded from their original software versions. For instance, many laptops that have been upgraded from Windows 95 versions to higher ones, have shown problems of flickering due to poorly calibrated refresh rate.

What is refresh rate? It is nothing but a parameter that determines the functioning of images displayed on computer monitors. It has to be understood, that to rectify this problem, one must not change the display setting without an awareness of the suitable refresh rate. It is necessary to read the instruction manual properly.

Often, it so happens that the pixels on your LCD laptop screens/monitors are damaged in certain areas and so you're unable to see proper images. If that is the case, then you don't have any other choice but to change the entire screen and replace it with a new one. This can help you in fixing the flickering problem, eventually. To check if there is any problem in your video card, connect another monitor to your laptop through the VGA port. If it shows any faint or jumbled images, then the main reason for the flickering is your video card.

Lastly, if you don't find that there is any other problem you can detect, there must be problems within your screen. Remember that you just cannot open the computer screen and check it on your own as you may risk an electronic shock. Moreover, if you're not skilled in doing such tasks, you may spoil your expensive gadget. It is advisable to go to your laptop service center and get it checked. If you find that your laptop screen is still in warranty period and you find problems of flickering, it is best to get it changed. A new monitor screen comes for USD 500 to USD 1000, which is a bit expensive. If you wish, you can buy a used monitor at an inexpensive rate.

In case, your screen goes black, it is a signal of some greater problem that requires expert repair. A flickering screen needs immediate attention, as the problem may be something very simple, but if left untreated, the problem may increase and cause further malfunctioning in the screen.
