HerculEn reacted to Linkin in How to Disable Indexing Thoroughly to Improve Windows Performance?
Notice: Turning off indexing of your Windows computer will not do any harm, and if you are using an SSD( solid state drive), there is no point disabling this feature.

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to turn off the indexing service once for all.

First open the Control Panel and click on Administrative Tools. Then click on Services in the list. You can also open Services directly by typing services.msc in the Run dialog or Start Menu search box.

Now scroll down till you find either Indexing Service or Windows Search in the list of services. You’ll see it’s probably in the Started state and is set to Automatic.

Double-click on Windows Search and click the Stop button to stop the service. Then change the Startup Type to Disabled.

After this, you’re going to want to restart your computer. When you turn indexing off, you can still perform a search in Windows. I did several tests, it is a little slower than before. But if you do care about this, I suggest you download Wise Jet Search( for direct download: http://www.wisecleaner.com/wisejetsearchfree.html, it is 3 to 5 times faster than the Windows search.

Why does WRC keep flaggin Norton?   Always get about 12 "Software\wow6532...." registry errors on Norton.
Won't allow the fix to work.
I've deleted and reinstalled Norton (from Comcast), running Win7.

    Hi Wise Helpers,

Why is the drive C: not shown on the list of Scan Location, in the Advanced Cleaner section?
It is an SSD drive, but should that matter? It is only looking for more files on the drive, isn't it?
It will not show a MicroSD card either, but will show USB Flash Drives!

On a side note, the C: drive and the MicroSD card are shown in the Disk Defrag section and can be fully optimized or defragmented.
I thought SSD would not be defragmented...

    Thank you in advance.

HerculEn reacted to Deem in Wise Folder Hider- Unhide Problem..Folder Gone
Hi, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and had an up to date Wise Folder Hider.
    Here's the problem:
    1. I opened WFH and un-hid my folder which then immediately popped open as normal..
    2. I accidentally then closed WFH, so the folder I had just opened went blank, which has happened to me before.
    3. In the past all I would have to do is open up WFH again and unhide the folder again and everything would be fine... so I did
However, this time when I tried to un-hide the folder I got the message "can't unhide folder."
    4. Okay, so I close everything again thinking that this is just some random error, but when I open WFH it shows no folders being currently hidden.
Hmmm.. now.. this has ALSO happened to me before and I would just have re-hide the folder but now the folder is gone from it's original place as if it        were still hidden.

So there is no original folder and WFH is showing that it's not currently hiding anything...wtf?

I've looked through the forums and tried using Wise Data Recovery as suggested here: http://forum.wisecleaner.com/index.php?/topic/8-how-to-get-back-the-wfh-files/
but when using that program there is no folder "...." since WFH is showing that it's technically not hiding anything...
So.. not really sure what to do now. It seems like through some weird series of events my folder has been magically deleted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I am running the latest version of Wise Care 365 Pro.  As the attached image shows, the Registry Last Clean Date is not refreshing when a scan is run.  You can see the registry backup dates (today), but Wise Care is reporting that it has been 49 days since I last cleaned.  I am observing the same error on my laptop computer as well.  I have indeed selected CLEAN and it appears to work, but when I re-launch Wise Care, it is still showing the last clean date as in the past.  All other Wise Care clean components report the correct clean dates and a reboot does not solve the problem.

Submitted for your information.  Have a great day.
