error message:Windows cannot update. Error Code: 80004002

Recommended Posts

When Windows sends me a update message I try to download patches, etc. however, it tells me Windows could not search for new updates (error code 80004002). I have it set up to update automatically but it cannot do this. Is there any solution to this problem?

I have purchased your Pro Wise Care 360 Program recently hoping it would solve this issue but it seems it cannot take care of this error problem. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. The HP computer runs on Windows Vista. It was purchased in August 2008. It has 585 GB total memory and It still has 325 GB of freee space. The factory image (D:Drive) has 11 GB with 1.43 GB free. It is HP Pavillion with Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz with 4.00 GB memory. It has WDC WD6400AAKS-65A7B0 Disk Drives (C: Drive). It has 1 DVD Drive ( E: Drive) TSST corp CDDVDW TS-H653Q. I'm connected to Version.

Can it be fixed or do I take it out back, shoot it, and put it out of its misery? :- )

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Mike Shelton
