The following operations make only a scan to your HDDs: - Open command prompt with elevated privileges, type chkdsk C: (press enter key on your keyboard), check the result. - Do the same for F: --> chkdsk F: If those ones found bad sectors, you could try to recover them with either chkdsk /b [insert the corrupted hdd letter] OR chkdsk /r [insert the corrupted hdd letter] More informations: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730714.aspx Later, after a reboot, open command prompt with elevated privileges, type sfc /scannow (press enter key on your keyboard), check the result.
