    Bitdefender Free Edition is NOT working anymore after Registry Restore.

    1. UNINSTALL PC HealtBoost 2. INSTALL WiseCleaner Products - they are FREE http://www.wisecleaner.com/products.html

    Try these; 1. Create a System Restore Point - for Backup 2. Go to Administrative Tools/Services and stop the Update service. 3. Go to the folder c:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution and deleted all of the files and folders. 4. Go back to Services and restart the Windows Update Service which will recreate all of those folders again. 5. Manually ran the Update Service.

    Did you try to run it as ADMIN? Is your AV maybe blocking it? PS: i Did some testing, Wise Cleaner is BETTER!!!

    Before your Reply, i did some testing on my own I put all on MANUAL... oh boy... What did i learn? NEVER PUT ALL on manual!

    WPU 1.64 from time to time "Freezes / Stop Working" - Only dash is blinking in search box. Wont exept clicking with mouse pointer! Hm... Have PRT SC but there is nothing to see!

    WPU 1.64 DELETED Adobe Flash Player & part of NeXus Program while Uninstalling MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser & using Safe Uninstall option. PS: i Also needed 2 WIN UPDATES (KB2972216 & KB2894854), .NET Framework 4.5, 4.5.1 - was deleted or damaged - dont know exactly!!! PPS: PLEASE add AUTO BACKUP option for Registry & System Restore Point, before uninstalling begins!!! This is the 2nd time now, that i have to install damaged Programs all over again & try to fix WPUs damage.
