  1. Hi.
    Antivirus?
    Firewall?
Run the following command from a command prompt:

    tasklist|sort|find /i /v "image name"|find /v "====" > "%userprofile%\desktop\tasklist.txt"

You should find a text file on your desktop after it, open it and then report the result here (possibly, using the forum tags SPOILER and /SPOILER --- they should be enclosed in square brackets).

  2. Open an elevated command prompt, copy the following line in the code, paste it in the command prompt (right-click with the mouse, paste), press enter on your keyboard, wait until it finishes, close the command prompt, restart your computer:

    RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351
Looking forward for your kind feedback!

How to run an elevated command prompt for Windows vista/seven users

    One of these three methods:

    - click start, all programs, accessories, right-click the command prompt in the list and click run as administrator, click yes on the user account control window that should appear

    - click start, type cmd in the searchbox, right-click the cmd in the list of results and click run as administrator, click yes on the user account control window that should appear

    - click start, type cmd in the searchbox, press and keep pressed ctrl + shift Keys on your keyboard, then press enter, click yes on the user account control window that should appear

  3. Hi clayto2.

    1) Try with a manual stopwatch (I think every cellular phone has got one), from the boot up to the WiseCleaner window.

    2) I'll leave the standard settings for Microsoft services (you can disable upnp services if you are not using them, and every other services you are SURE they will be never used. If you are not totally sure - 100% - leave them in their default status).

Are you using third party firewalls or antiviruses? Try to use Microsoft ones.

  4. Hi tpoliti.

If yes, right-click start, click command prompt (admin), launch:

    dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
It should last few seconds, then report the final result here.

    After it, launch:

    sfc /scannow
    It should last 15-50 minutes.

If the final result is different from Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations and Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log, launch this command:

    copy %SYSTEMROOT%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt && findstr /c:"[SR]" %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt > %userprofile%\desktop\SR.txt
After it, you should find two files on your desktop: cbs.txt and SR.txt.

Post here the sr.txt (you can upload it here or on another website, or copy/paste all the lines).

If the command won't work, try these, one after the other (one by one):

    copy %SYSTEMROOT%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt > %userprofile%\desktop\SR.txt
  5. In this area, WRC removes more items than necessary.

Originally, WRC found 83 items, but it removed everything.

I shortened the example a bit with only two items, but the result is the same of the 83 items (after the cleaning):

    WRC_Report.txt

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Store\C:\Users\XILOLEE\Desktop\prova.bat ?? : File (Folder) does not exist.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Compatibility Assistant\Store\D:\Applicazioni\notepad++ 6.7.2 portable\notepad++.exe ?? : File (Folder) does not exist.

WRC Backup, after it has cleaned those two items: XILOLEE 27-09-2015 172538.zip

I can't understand why, but WiseCare365 finds less items than WRC, and it removes only the found items (like it should be).

  6. This happens because the exclusion.dat of WiseCare365 includes File= and Key=, hence it can't be imported in WRC.

Vice versa, the exclusion.dat of WRC can't be imported in WiseCare365 because the keys/values are not preceded by Key=, and the strings finish with an = (equal sign --- I wonder why is that present?).

It would be nice if this were possible.

  7. Hi.

When WRC finds a value in this section, it removes ALL the values in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls (if the missing value is in this key)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls (if the missing value is in this key)

It should remove only the found value/s (or not?).

This behaviour is also present in WiseCare365.

Video: WRC-SharedDLLs.HEVC.zip (It should be unzipped and it can be viewed with VLC x64 2.2.1)

  8. Hi Ivan!

I forgot to write I'm using the portable version... Anyway I'll try this, of course!

Edit: tried it now: another old bug appears:

    1) open WAS

    2) start a task (any) and activate/enable it

    3) the task will go in the system tray

    4) move the task from the visible system tray to the hidden system tray

    5) open the hidden system tray (click the little arrow) and you'll find WAS icon (and maybe other icons), but don't move it from there

    6) double-left-click the WAS icon

    7) WAS should stuck and a window should appear saying something like:

    - title: wise auto shutdown

    - body: wiseautoshutdown.exe has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

    - buttons on the same line: debug - close program

    Video, compressed with 7zip: WAS-BUG.zip

Windows 10 standard, Windows firewall, Windows antivirus (defender), WAS version: used yours in your previous post, DEP AlwaysOn, custom scaling level: larger 150% set from Control Panel\Appearance and Personalisation\Display - set a custom scaling level.

I set DEP AlwaysOn from the command line (OptIn is the default setting): bcdedit /set {current} nx alwayson

    Edit 17/09/2015 01:00 (italian time):

I have tried now without DEP alwayson (I've set it to optin) and with normal scaling.

    The problem remains.

  9. Hi!

All the other tasks work correctly!

    However, here it is:

    set time automatically: on
adjust for daylight saving time automatically: on
(in italy, +1h from last sunday of march to last sunday of october; this year 29 march and 25 october)
    UTC +01:00 (italian/european)
    first day: monday
    short date: 11/09/2015
long date: venerdì 11 settembre 2015
    short time: 06.29
    long time: 06.29.33

Anyway, in previous versions, every other tasks worked correctly and the bug was present only on the daily task.
If you don't remember/know the (old) bug:
    1) open WAS
    2) start a daily task, activate/enable it
    3) right-click the WAS icon in system tray, exit
    4) check the task scheduler: the task will be there (it should be deleted by WAS on exit, like its other tasks)
    5) re-open WAS: the daily task is present yet (and running)

(The other tasks were cancelled, instead, after WAS closure.)

  10. Hi jkcharlie.

I think you should provide at least your configuration, in order to get (effective) help from developers/admins.

For example, you could answer these questions:

    - Laptop or Desktop?

    - Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)?

    - System Manufacturer?

    - Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom)?

    - OS (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, xp, other)?

    - OS version (standard, home, home basic, home premium, professional, ultimate, enterprise, other)?

    - x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)?

    - What was original installed OS in your PC?

    - CPU?

    - Video Card?

    - MotherBoard (if NOT a laptop)?

    - Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one)

You can find them using wise care 365 --> system monitor --> hardware overview and/or using Microsoft msinfo32 (click windows start, then all programs, then accessories, click command prompt, type msinfo32 in the command prompt black window and press enter on your keyboard).

  11. Do you use the latest v1.49.77?

How it happen? When you click the Start button to create the daily task?

    Yes, yes.

I.e.: latest version (I was updating all freebies and checking all the translations) and at creation of a daily task.

Windows 10 standard (updated from Windows 8/8.1) and DEP (Data Execution Prevention) Always ON.

I don't remember if I tried without DEP (in last months).
