I can't "restore" far enough back. I have 'backed up' my system and I have Windows 7 home premium DVD. Is it difficult to re-install the system? Any help would be appreciated thanks

Thanks for your reply. Here are the 'error' messages. Code 8003712 Windows Update encountered an unknown error. Programs and features is just empty. Windows Help and Support can't start. regards

Windows Update, Programs & Features and now Windows Help & Support are not working. I have tried many, many fixes on Microsoft website and other 3rd party programs with absolutely no success.
