10. You will be prompted with Found New Hardware. Select Locate and install driver software. Confirm permissions. Windows will now search for your hardware driver and reinstall it.

Hello, You could try shutting it down and when you start it up press F8 repeatedly until you get a screen with the option to boot to the Last Known Good Configuration. Try this first and see if it makes a difference. A second way to get there. 

Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore. Choose the most recent date before the encountered problem. If it doesn't work, try the next date

So after you’ve done that, whenever next time you open up something that the system doesn’t recognize. It will go straight ask you which software you want to open up with.

2. Start regedit in vista, Click on Start and then type “regedit” in search box

 

 

3. A registry editor will be opened, now please change  some data values

Now open below path to and change “ScanWithAntiVirus” Value data  to 1 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\

Attachments\ScanWithAntiVirus”
