If you think your issue started right after a graphics driver update, please go to device manager and roll that graphics drive back to its previous version.

This appears to be an issue where your pop3 email server is not working/respinding. I do not believe this is a Windows Mail issue. I would report this issue to the service provider.

In addition to David's suggestion, you could also try rolling back to the previous driver (if that one worked):
-
Use a restore point to go back to before the problem.
Since you gave no real info about your problem, Maybe your understanding of computer problems is very limited.
In that case, maybe a restore to factory settings would be best.
Or maybe not.
The more info you provide the better.
Especially by posting screenshots of your problems.
You have to help us with GOOD information about your problems before we can help you.
Diito on that!

what is the error?
-
What type of error message do you get and/or what is the rejection message? A screenshot would be helpful.

Glad you found a work-around of sorts. Please consider marking your last response as the solution by clicking on the Mark Solved button within the post. One more thing though, your last solution contains a very important statement containing information that should have been included in your first post:
I have VMWare player installed on my laptop (workstation 9.0 virtual machine). There I´ve got Linux Ubuntu 12.10 installed.
That configuration is a far cry from the standard win configuration I was using for comparison.
Thanks for reporting your success,

I am not a Wise employee but I do not think you can recover that after deletion; however, that function should not erase the links in your favorites menu. Maybe someone from Wise will respond but the links in the history view are not recoverable IMHO.
