Very recently, all of my shortcuts have been changed to Word shortcut with a code "box" which must be the sc description,. This happens to desktop shortcuts and all my start menu programs shortcuts and really every shortcut on my pc. Even when I try to send a new shortcut, it ends up the same way. In order to start a program, I have to go through My C drive to Programs and search for the .exe file for that program.
I wish your associates could give me a solution to this irritating problem.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This resolution worked wonderfully. I had no problem using your repair plan. I thought I would have to replace the corrupted desk top icons and links, but ALL shortcuts were properly replaced, even in my Start Menu.
