As I wrote on the 16th already: NO it didn't work Xilo. Thank you though. Best, Wolfgang

Thank you Xilolee;
unfortunately it did not work.
Before you wrote me your thoughts
I already did this (since months!)
at least twice a week. The speed got
"much better" from almost five minutes
to 3 1/2 minutes boot-up time.
WKK - thank you - didn't help. I might
end up with the "beloved" task of
re-installing everything AGAIN---
It's a hard life in the mountains!
Best,
Wolfgang

My computer takes circa five minutes to startup even though I have disabled more or less everything. Your input will be highly appreciated.

The slow startup supposedly has to do with the computer itself. It was never fast, always took over a minute to boot. But since Wise 365 installation it takes circa 2 to 4 minutes...

My computer downloaded and installed WiseCare 365 but when I click the icon my screen shows "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Wise\Wise Care 365\WiseCare365.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I erased the program and re-installed it but still I cannot get it to work, even when I click on
WiseCare365.exe in the Windows My Computer pane.
I did (or let's rather say the machine did it...) this several times over the last several days to no avail.

speed up startup

I re-installed the system eight times so far during
this laptop's life. It always worked rather fine for
several days; Toshiba found nothing wrong. But
I simply do not want to do the re-installing again.
My computer even denied being restored from a
complete restore point. More or less daily I run
cleaning programs and I have all the good stuff
from Wise working. Always I get positive messages
like: Your computer is doing fine; no problems have
been detected, and similar. Even a thorough cleaning
that lasted almost 50 hours did NOT detect anything
wrong. That thing does not overheat (140 degrees max)
It sits stationary - but it simply misbehaves. Now even
the Windows Security Center does not start automatically
anymore; I'm loving it...
Have a fine Sunday Xilo! Wolfgang
