I Am Unable To Use Internet Explorer For internet programs such as Yahoo, Google etc.

I am unable to use Internet Explorer to go to the Internet i.e. go to Yahoo Mail, Yahoo, or basically even update programs such as Wise Disk Cleaner etc. I have been using Google Chrome for more than 4 months. I would like to like to use my Internet Explorer to go on the Internet. If I try to update a program not using Google Chrome then I get a box saying Internet Explorer quit working. I would definite appreciate your assistance. I tried using Wise PC 1St Aid but I still have the problem.
