How to migrate archived EML files to Office 365 online archive?

A company had years of archived EML files stored locally from old email clients like Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. As the business moved to Microsoft 365, the IT team wanted to transfer these old records into the Office 365 Online Archive so employees could access historical emails whenever needed. Manual methods became difficult because there were thousands of EML files spread across folders.
