How to unlock file Posted April 19 Report Posted April 19 I encrypted some files and folders before I reinstalling Win. After I reinstalling Win, I realized encrypted files may not decrypt. I have tried Drives tools
wisecleaner_admin Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Dear user, Sorry about that. We suppose that the file loss may be because the files are stored in the C drive, and reinstalling the system will automatically format the C drive. You can try to recover lost files with another product of our company, Wise Data Recovery. But the chances of recovering the files are not very high.

I apologize I did not explain loss file stroring in Non C drive. And I still keep them.I want to upload the example encrypting file in attach file but failed. I also can not open it, copy it. Every encrypting File has a lock icon as the following photo. I also try to recover by using Wise Data Recovery. However, I did not find any files I want. Can I have chance to recover my files?
wisecleaner_admin Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 Dear user, Sorry about that. No features of Wise Folder Hider will add a yellow lock icon to users' files or folders. Maybe you can refer to this guide to fix it: https://www.wisecleaner.com/think-tank/587-3-Ways-to-Remove-Yellow-Lock-from-Files-on-Windows-11.html
