screen four fifths have gone darker than the remaining one fifth. I have a brighter colour at the top

After you log in, deos the desktop display normal?

No , on turning on the computer the screen is 4/5 lighter then 1/ at the top as shown in picture

Two possible reasons, one is the monitor issue, another is the video card issue.

1, connect your monitor to another PC (or device), whether it works fine.

2, plug in another video card and checking.
