  1. Finally I managed to destroy these bad filenames by using the WinHex software version 17.3. We have to manually change the illegal ASCII characters in the Master File Table (MFT). WinHex automatically finds in the partition the exact position where the illegal filenames are. Hoping it wil be useful for others who have the same problem.
  2. How to delete these 22 files with bad filenames? I tried different solutions suggested on the Web, but with no results : I tried FileExile, FileAssassin, DeleteDoctor; I also tried to delete short filenames in Dos. It happened when Avast detected a virus, put it in quarantine, but this virus had begun to do his bad job in the Firefox folder. Thanks for the help.
