I used Wise Registry Cleaner 4.41 in Command line with "wiseregcleaner.exe -a -all" and WRC ignores the file exlusion.dat.

    In exclusion.dat I have "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT", "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", "HKEY_USERS" and "HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG"

WRC delete keys in HKLM and HKCR in spite of exclusion.dat

    I use Windows 7 SP1 x86.

AlisaBog reacted to xilolee in Feature requests/Suggestions: Wise Registry Cleaner missing features
    Hi all!
I would like to see some new features of WRC:
    1) Regarding the installed version of WRC (scilicet the uninstaller version): DON'T REMOVE c:\users\user-name\appdata\roaming\wise registry cleaner\backup folder and the files in it.
    2) POSSIBILITY to select/tick/tap/check all found problems in a section and ignore them in one click.
Better: select part of the entries to ignore and ignore them in one click.
    3) POSSIBILITY to ignore all sections in the custom area (at the present we need to select at least one section)
    4) Command line parameter to defragment the Windows registry ONLY.

Problems of the current release (9.34.605):
Custom area: replace the scan button with the save button, to save the choices, because when I click the top-right X, the choices won't be saved.
You fixed this problem in release 9.15, but it returned in the current stable release
I don't know when this problem returned.
I'd also prefer its previous location (bottom-left corner). Auto-adjust columns (when double-clicking the column cursor) doesn't work.
I can't remember if this worked in previous releases. Tooltips don't work, when the "value name" and "key name" columns are "stretched" (i.e., always).
    They worked in previous releases.
I don't know when this problem returned. When I open WRC portable, %AppData%\Wise Euask folder is created (and it shouldn't create it, or at least it should create that folder inside WRC folder). Some entries didn't show the description.
I had got these three entries without a description (but probably I deleted them, because now I don't get them any more):
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{C79BA6D1-F7B8-4b87-A405-ED9DE29A8B6D}\AppID=
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{CEDCD345-8C2C-4928-B8C9-AE867372A7CF}\AppID=
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D1219BD5-B542-4ab7-82CB-C89DDA9F3768}\AppID= The register window doesn't show all the strings (but the tooltips work, at least).
    "Contact us" isn't translatable.
    If possible, enlarge the entries.

I have now had to reinstall MS edge several times because it seems that after using Wisecare 365 4.61.439 version (after the big windows 10 creator update) it breaks my MS edge over and over again.
After using wisecare all I get is a completely white screen when trying to load egde.
It seems similar to a problem from 2015 in this topic http://forum.wisecleaner.com/index.php?/topic/10825-windows-10-start-menu-broken/?hl=edge&do=findComment&comment=22458
Would be nice not to have to use a workaround for a 2 year old problem that should not be happening.

AlisaBog reacted to UCanFixIt in "Mark Solved" Option Now Available to Members
    Hello all members,

The "Mark Solved" option has been activated in the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board. Now originating posters (OPs) can select their own "Best Answer."

    How it works:

Each member response to an originating poster's issue will now include a "Mark Solved" button that can only be seen by the OP (see image1). If a specific response solves the OPs issue, he/she can simply click the Mark Solved button for that specific response and it will automatically do two things:

    1. It will update the index to show the OPs issue as "Answered." (see image2)
    2. It will add the "Best Answer" to the top of the OPs post. (see image3)

This new feature could really benefit members or guests that are looking for solutions while browsing or searching the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board.

Note: The Wise Specific Product Boards do not have this feature enabled.

I'm almost sure that I have put in this request before and obviously it fell into an abyss of it didn't happen.

Okay, here goes Take II ... this time with a screen capture for illustration.

As you can see in the attached screen cap, all the rest of the apps in my PortableApps.com platform menu are real nicely titled to where one knows at a glance what exactly they are. THEN you see down there at 2nd from the bottom outlined in the red box where it says "WiseCleaner.com." What the ....? That certainly doesn't specify at a glance remotely what the app is.

Well, it happens to be Wise Registry Cleaner. WHY not have it specify exactly what it is just like all the other apps? That's all I'm asking. Just a simple request to have the menu title display "Wise Registry Cleaner" or "Wise Registry Cleaner Portable." That would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.

I have this problem with RG Portable version, the RG icon appears in system tray and then disappears after a few seconds. No message. After this I check manually, it deleted nothing. It doesn't work at all. Then I checked in the Windows TaskScheduler and I have seen that the task is set up for Windows 2000 and XP, maybe the parameters of the task would be updated.
Anyway in the scheduled task, it would be added the option of repeating task if the PC was turn off, hibernate or sleep at the scheduled moment.
    Thanks in advance.

AlisaBog reacted to [email protected] in Before blindly using third-party utils, pls give this advise consideration
I started originally in programming Apple II, Lanier NoProblem, & Tandy. I have been a network admin since 1986 on NetWare, Windows NT, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003. I install networks & workstations & am responsible for all program & updates from DOS 3.2-Windows 3-Windows 98A, Windows XP thru Windows 10. I am intimately familiar with the Windows registry on all Microsoft products.

Programs that boast registry cleaning flood the Internet. Generally, I use Symantec/Norton products to limit unnecessary entries in the registry. Occasionally I use third-party utilities to find hidden keys in binary etc.

A strong word of caution is if you are not familiar with registries, stay away from registry cleaners. It's okay to defrag or compress it but not to delete entries. I eval this utility by running on a virgin Windows 10 Professional system that I had only installed Windows Updates and perused the Internet with IE & Edge.

When I ran WRC, it returned over 1000 problems. Now it was okay to identify IE & Edge temporary files but it also wanted to delete or modify other important entries. All ActiveX/COM/BHOs are not bad, although some may be & they are regularly ill referenced everywhere you look. If you know how to use MMC &/or browser add-ins management, you don't necessarily need a third-party util. The firewall can be managed from Control Panel, MMC or Admin Tools. If you don't like Control Panel, Windows Services can be managed from MMC &/or Admin Tools under All Programs. The point here is: Know your OS well enough to utilize embedded controls rather than auto-repair. You will almost assuredly disable important functions & disable your system functionality if you go blindly changing things.

This program disabled us from uninstalling applications. Applications attach themselves to "file types." If the file type is deleted, does it recreate the file type? Who knows but the programmer ! I could go item by item, but I think I've made my point.

So, how do you protect yourself you ask. First, make a backup of your registry from within the registry, second, create a Restore Point from within Computer Management, third, make another registry backup from within WRC. It also includes a "Restore Registry" function.

Start slow. Change only one category, reboot, test your browsers & any important/useful apps. Beware of binary keys ! Change only categories you recognize the format. Always reboot after ANY registry changes.

I am not condemning the software. I think a lot of Wise apps, but I know what I am doing as well as the risks. I wish you the best of luck & hope you will find their utilities as useful as I have, & will purchase their suite for what it's worth to you.
