sizekani reacted to Chim in Discrepancy Between WDC and Wise Care 365 Junk Files
I mentioned this issue over on my Wise Care 365 vs. Wise Registry Cleaner thread.  I thought I'd put it here in its own thread since on the surface, it looks like it MIGHT be a WDC issue instead of a Wise Care 365 issue ... although I could be wrong.  Either way, now I have visual proof and more detail.

In the 2nd image attached below, you'll notice how Wise Care 365 4.5.6 managed to detect 695 Junk Files Created by Applications for a total of 92.3 MegaBytes.  While it found various items first in that category ... starting with the yellow highlighted items, it was predominantly a mountain of Maxthon Cloud browser cache.  Of course, I only included a micro sample of that Maxthon cache.

In the 1st image attached below, you'll notice how Wise Disk Cleaner 9.41 detected NO Junk Files.  That is quite a huge discrepancy.  I could be wrong in my thinking, but I would think that WDC and the Common Cleaner function in Wise Care 365 would / should work pretty much the same and yield same results or at least pretty close to the same.

True, as was mentioned in the Wise Care 365 vs. Wise Registry Cleaner thread, Wise does NOT at this time support Maxthon.  However, logically, the results of this experiment seem to indicate that either WDC or the Common Cleaner function in Wise Care 365 is wrong ... or both --- and needs to be fixed to match the other app.  In other words, either Wise Care 365 should NOT have detected all those 695 items as Junk Files Created by Applications ... or WDC SHOULD have detected them instead of missing them.

Oh, and also, as can be seen in the 2 images, there also seems to be a noticeable discrepancy in the Old Prefetch Data between the 2 apps.  True, it's not a huge discrepancy as with the other issue, but a discrepancy nonetheless.  I don't know if there is a logical explanation for that or whether that also needs to be looked into.

Sorry about how I discussed the 2nd image first instead of starting with the 1st image.  It's that after submitting my topic, the order of my images was mysteriously swapped.  So, I had to edit the text to match the order of the images.

sizekani reacted to UCanFixIt in "Mark Solved" Option Now Available to Members
    Hello all members,

The "Mark Solved" option has been activated in the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board. Now originating posters (OPs) can select their own "Best Answer."

    How it works:

Each member response to an originating poster's issue will now include a "Mark Solved" button that can only be seen by the OP (see image1). If a specific response solves the OPs issue, he/she can simply click the Mark Solved button for that specific response and it will automatically do two things:

    1. It will update the index to show the OPs issue as "Answered." (see image2)
    2. It will add the "Best Answer" to the top of the OPs post. (see image3)

This new feature could really benefit members or guests that are looking for solutions while browsing or searching the Computer Trouble-Shooting Discussion Board.

Note: The Wise Specific Product Boards do not have this feature enabled.

    Hello,

I run WiseFolderHider Free on Windows10. After migrating to V4.14.151, the main window showed me two entries: one directory on my hard disk including drive letter (D:\Folder1), another directory on a USB drive, that was not plugged in, without drive letter (\Folder2). Why directories are displayed that are physically inaccessible?
After clicking Open-Unhide for both entries, \Folder2 disappeared. After that, Windows Explorer was opened automatically showing D:\Folder1. Why Windows Explorer is opened automatically? I prefer other File Manager tools.
But: Folder2 remains disappeared, both in WiseFolderHider, as well as in Windows Explorer or other File Manager tools. How do I get back Folder2 and its files?
After hiding Folder 1 again, it is no longer displayed in Windows Explorer, but in TotalCommander (version 9), the folder is shown and the names of all files within Folder1, even though the option 'Do not show hidden files' is set. But after all, the displayed file names can not be opened (error message). The same happens with file managers MultiCommander and FileZilla. Does this 'works as designed' or is it a bug with TotolCommander, MultiCommander, FileZilla or WiseFolderHider?
    Thanks for help and answers.

    Hello:

I am a long time happy user and proponent of Wise products. For the first time ever I have an issue. Both 365 and WRC hang up and stop responding when doing a registry scan. Need to close it via task manager. WRS stops on a fast scan after recognizing 43 issues if that helps but I doubt it. Screenshot attached.

Everything else seems fine with the PC except the wireless card which works then quits if you go even 20 feet from the router no issue when plugged into NIC
Defender runs without issue (I know big deal)

    Hey xilolee,
    Thanks for your feedback.

1 and 2 translation problem, we will improve it.

The folder "...." normally it was created by WFH v3, v4 won't use it again. Its properties is Hidden, just change your Folder View settings, then you won't see it again. If you still want to delete it, please email to [email protected], the staff can help you.

The error message "Failed to load WiseFs.sys", normally you just need to restart system, then it will be registered automatically. If you have tied it, but it still didn't work, please registered it manually, or uninstall WFH, then reinstall it and reboot.

sizekani reacted to Chim in The "NEW" Utilities in the Utilities Sidebar
The other day I decided to try the Program Uninstaller in the Utilities Sidebar over on the right of WC 365.  I figured if it worked exactly as the standalone version, I'd naturally delete the standalone version from my PA.com platform in my Flash Drive as I would of course no longer need it.  No use having the same app twice in my Flash Drive apps arsenal.

Well, if I deciphered correctly what then happened ... I believe Program Uninstaller proceeded to be downloaded.  I aborted the download because [A]  I already have a Wise Program Uninstaller.    I have Dial Up Internet and didn't expect to be downloading anything at that time.

QUESTION #1:  Do ALL of those "NEW" utilities in the Utilities Sidebar need to first be downloaded before being able to be used?

QUESTION #2:  Will these "NEW" utilities eventually be incorporated into Wise Care 365 in a future version?  If so, how many versions from the current version?  One?  Two?  You know ... so they wouldn't have to first be downloaded and installed.

In other words, I'm hoping to get to the point to where Wise Care 365 covers ALL the bases and functions of ALL the current Wise standalone products that I use.  I like to operate lean & mean.  So the less standalone Wise apps that I'd have to have installed in my PA.com platform and have WC 365 cover all those functions ... the better.  Especially given that right now I haven't even seen a portable version of Wise Force Deleter.

Step 2: Control Panel window will open, form left side of the window click on System protection

Step 3: When small window open choose System Protection tab and then from Protection settings select your local drive and click on Configure button

Step 4: Under new window locate the section Disk space usage and scroll the slider down to lower percentage. Click OK to save your changes. If you restore point space is too low don’t worry because windows will delete older restore points and make more room for newest one

Step 6: Then select Turn off system protection and click OK to save changes.
Warning: If you decrease the disk space to be smaller than the space that is currently being used by system protection, older restore points, including previous versions of files, will be deleted.

It will help us incredibly much if you describe what operating system you have
and perhaps its hardware. You can do it in 'Signature' box. Here is how:

    1. Top right click on your name.

    2. Select 'My Settings'.

    3. 'Signature' on the left (center)

In this way we can better take us to the 'root' of the problem and then solve it faster.
