Click Start -> click All Programs -> click Accessories -> right-click Command Prompt, select Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue. At the command prompt, type the following commands (press ENTER after each): SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 devmgmt.msc When in Device Manager, click View then Show hidden devices Expand the category containing your device, and then double-click the name of your device. Click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. If there is a Delete the driver software for this device box, check it (make sure you have internet connectivity so that you may reacquire these drivers). Read and Confirm Notification, click OK. Exit Device Manager, and restart your computer. You will be prompted with Found New Hardware. Select Locate and install driver software. Confirm permissions. Hello, You could try shutting it down and when you start it up press F8 repeatedly until you get a screen with the option to boot to the Last Known Good Configuration. Try this first and see if it makes a difference. A second way to get there. Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore. Choose the most recent date before the encountered problem. If it doesn't work, try the next date Thanks.

So after you’ve done that, whenever next time you open up something that the system doesn’t recognize. It will go straight ask you which software you want to open up with.
