Help, I'm using portable versions of Chrome and FireFox (from portableapps.com) and WiseCleaner of course doesn't see them.

Is it possible to somehow add a path to their directories so that it sees in Common Cleaner mode and offers to clean their cache and stuff?

Latest PORTABLE version 11.1.1.826 is messed up, as it is not acting as previous portables.

It does not read correctly previous configuration files from version 11.0.9.823 and is not 'remembering' configuration changes ('Common Cleaner' selections, drives in 'Advanced Cleaner', ...).

It is also 'filling' data in folders '%APPDATA%\Wise Disk Cleaner', '%APPDATA%\Wise Utilities' and '%APPDATA%\Wise Euask' and sometimes creates new file 'Types.lst' in folder %APPDATA% instead of using one in program folder.

There could be some other problems, but I did not investigate further because I went back to version 11.0.9.823

Only way to get around it is to re-install. That gives you ONE use. The next time I try to open it, the error.

Been reinstalling over and over just to get one use at a time, hope anyone who reads will consider this a compliment to the prog that I like it so much am willing to take all these steps to use it. 

Have disabled virus scanner and gone thru to make sure everything else on the computer (Windows11) is ok.  A mystery?

It would be great if Wise Disk Cleaner can have the feature of cleaning for all user accounts when running from an administrator account. On the other hand it would be nice too if WDC can have the same setting system of Wise Care 365 for the ítem exclusion (this is more interesting, nice and clear in Wise Care 365 than in Wise Disk Cleaner).

Maybe this kind of improvement in Wise Disk Cleaner can derivate in a Pro version (paid) as the case of the Wise Registry Cleaner.

I started using these products from the IOBIT range because I found these programs much better usage wise, and they seemed to be better in their performance too.

I was wondering if Wise Cleaner had ever been reported as showing us false positives when scanning, either the basic scan or the advanced scan? I ask this because sometimes I will run the basic scan - see the results - then run the clean. But if I scan again it finds yet more and recommends a clean again, this can happen three times or more if I keep going! Or am I simply using the program wrong, apologies if I am.

As the title suggests, is this still an active product? The reason I ask this is because there seems to be a lot of posts from a long time ago, not a lot of new date posts. Also there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of Up Dates to the programs, so are they still working on the products such as Wise Disk Cleaner and Wise Registry Cleaner?

• The "clean with 1-click" problem (wrong language and no tooltips) will appear when using the portable version.

  It doesn't appear in the installed version.

• It seems the memory leak problem will appear when:

  - using the portable version

  - pagefile.sys is disabled

  - every options is ticked

  - usercustom.ini is used with a lot of customized rules... the more rules are present, the more the problem will be visible

  It doesn't appear in the installed version.

• ButtonMinimize, ButtonMaximize, ButtonClose, ButtonRestore and probably also ButtonMenu aren't translated (the tooltip appears in English instead than in my language, I can't verify menu because it is menu also in Italian).

  I don't know where I can check ButtonYes, ButtonNo and ButtonOK.

• The string "Cleanup your computer regularly." isn't present in the English.ini, hence it can't be translated in other languages.

  The same is also valid for "Custom" - "Scan customized entries" and all strings in "Support center".

• When I select "Custom" only, WDC won't scan it.

  This works as expected in classic mode.

• (After a scan) When changing language, strings remain with the previous language; when I hover the cursor over them, the language changes.
• After a scan, "scan again" button will appear next to the clean button.

  When I click it, I expect WDC to scan again... Instead it clears the screen and I must click the scan button.

  This works as expected in classic mode.

• WDC_report function is broken: (after a scan) I can right-click everywhere but the EXPORT button won't appear.

  In classic mode, I can right-click everywhere and the export button appears.

  ALSO: if I click on a section, the create-report function will appear only if I click on a result, BUT the WDC_report will show results only for that section.

  How can we save all results?

  In classic mode, all results will appear in the report.

- Don't ask every time if I'm sure I want to delete cookies.

- Do a full clean automatically as the disk is scanned, much like CCleaner.

Como já disse na secção do Wise Cleaner, costumo enviar as minhas traduções por email, mas deve haver algum problema porque, também no caso do WDC, enviei a tradução para a versão 9.22 no dia 3 de Abril e a tradução incluída na versão 9.23 ainda é a da v9.05!

Por isso, espero que colocando as traduções no fórum o problema fique resolvido.

Settings/Exclusion doesn´t work well for cookies.

1- After a clean install of WDC last version, and keeping the Exclusion list as came in default, Microsoft Edge Cookies shows a number of cookies after a scan (Number A).

2- In Exclusion, I remove some cookies and a new scan finds a higher number of cookies (Number B).

3- In Exclusion, I continue removing all the remained cookies (empty list) and a new scan find a higher number of cookies (Number C).

Here is the problem:
In Exclusion, I add some default cookies and a new scan find the same number of cookies as point 3 (Number C). So, the software didn´t take into account the added cookies.

In Exclusion, I continue adding cookies until obtain the same default list and a new scan find the same number of cookies as point 3 (Number C) (In this case the software, if worked well, had to show the lower number of found cookies in the test like Number A).

The only step I discovered to the software take into account added cookies is to perform an importation of the default list (from a text file), using the Import” button. In this case, having an empty list, if I import the default cookie list, the results after a scan will be as Number A (it is correct).

In conclusion, Exclusion list works fine to remove cookies but doesn´t work to manually add cookies unless the cookies to be added through the Import button.

I would like to comment a possible issue to improve.

I don´t have Google Chrome but items related to it are present in the Common Cleaner.

I think that WDC is detecting some registry keys related to Chrome but I investigated that they are by default in last versions of Windows 10, but they aren´t related to an installed Google Chrome browser:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts\com.microsoft.browsercore

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-3181948475-125578601-1010058708-1001\Software\Google\Chrome\NativeMessagingHosts\com.microsoft.browsercore

These keys are part of the OS and I guess WDC is associating them to the Chrome browser.

Most of those keys are protected by the system and firstly you can´t delete. But for testing, I tried with a software for deleting blocked registry keys ('registry_deleteex_portable'). I deleted them and WDC didn´t show the Chrome items. 

(In addition, I used Opera browser and Common Cleaner showed the Opera items. I uninstalled the Opera browser, deleted the registry remnants and then WDC didn´t show the associated items anymore).

Conclusion: without those mentioned Google keys in the Windows Registry, WDC/Common Cleaner doesn´t detect the Chrome as installed, so the Common Cleaner doesn´t show the items related to Chrome. If that is the explanation, so WDC should detect more specific keys of a real installed Chrome to avoid showing a false browser items to clean.
