How to improve your PC's performance?
Many users send us emails asking us how to improve the performance of their PCs. So, we post this note, and hope it will help some of you.
When you use your computer for some length of time, running programs, installing & uninstalling software, adding and deleting documents etc. – your computer's performance will drop over time. This happens because the disks on your system accumulate many junk files, many invalid registry information and many unnecessary files and programs. You can try to improve your PC's performance by taking the following step:
1.Reduce your startup procedures.
(a) Press key "WIN"+"R" (or click "start"-"run") and input "msconfig".
(b) Click "Startup" page, and eliminate unnecessary startup programs & processes. (Usually you just need to run Antivirus software and firewall software).
2. Adjust the size of your virtual memory by doing the following:
(a).Right-click "My Computer"-"Properties"-"Advanced"-"Performance" and click the "Settings" button.
(b).Click now the "Advanced" page-"virtual memory" and click "Change" button.
(c).Set the Initial size = the Maximun size = your physical memory * 2.5. For example: If you have 512MB physical memory, please set the virtual memory = 512*2.5=1280MB.
3. Remove junk files.
You can do this by using our software Wise Disk Cleaner. This program will help you to finish this task quickly.
4. Cleanup your Registry.
If you want to perform this task quickly and effortlessly – you can use our software Wise Registry Cleaner. It will do the job for you. (We suggest you first run Wise Disk Cleaner and only then run Wise Disk Cleaner.)
5. And lastly, after completing the above tasks, you may need to run "Disk defragmenter", which is part of your Windows operating system. You will find this program by clicking "Start"-"All Program"-"accessories"-"system tools".
