Click Start button 2. Type and Enter: gpedit.msc (In the search box just above the Start button) 3. Click gpedit.msc (At the top of the search result) 4. Double click following: User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Update. 5. Duoble click and edit Do not adjust default option to ‘Install Updates And Shut Down’ in Shut Down Windows dialog box to be Enabled Make sure Do not display ‘Install Updates and Shut Down’ Option in Shut Down Windows dialog box is not set to Enabled. (It stands my PC on and it runs fine) but is probably different from PC to PC. I apologize if I have shown you the difficult path regarding it. You said when you press Shutdown and it shut down without processing updates from Windows Updates. How do you know it need to process updates from Windows update when shutdown?
