Problem solved for Big hairy cat.

Firefgirl disappeared, instead...

Hi firefgril! :)

When you have access to Windows, disable your internet connection; then:

1) Open an elevated command prompt and type:

cleanmgr /sageset:65535
Press enter, tick every option inside cleanmgr advanced menu, click ok, then type this:

cleanmgr /sagerun:65535
Press enter and wait until it finishes.

2) Uninstall the programs that you are not using from control panel

3) Check the applications that start with Windows (start - run - msconfig - enter - startup tab)

4) Check the tasks inside taskschd.msc (start - run - taskschd.msc - enter): if there are strange tasks that should not be there, remove them (but check them carefully and search in internet about them, or ask here --- restart your internet connection and, when you have finished, disable it)

5) Defragment your system hard drive device (it could take hours, you can leave it on during the night)

6) Restart your internet connection and download/run these programs:

Full scan with your antivirus

adwcleaner (click)

Junkware removal tool (click)

superantispyware free (click)

sophos virus removal tool free (click)

MBAM free (click)

stinger 32 bit (click) or stinger 64 bit (click)

(according to your windows BIT version)

MS Safety Scanner 32 bit (click) or MS Safety Scanner 64 bit (click)

(according to your windows BIT version)

7) Launch sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt

Looking forward for your kind feedback!

Yes, those methods work for 32bit versions... Just don't use stinger 64bit and ms safety scanner 64bit.

If you often get blue screens of Death, I don't recommend defragmentation!

Check if your system is stable when booted in safe mode and, in that case (stable system without BSODs), you could try the defragmentation.

Have you already tried these?

1) Download adwcleaner portable (click) and run it.
2) Download wise care 365 portable (click), extract it and put it on your desired/preferred folder.
3) Double left-click wisecare365.exe, click custom checkup, select/tick all entries (or the entries that you prefer), click ok, click checkup now, wait until the scan finishes, click fix now.
4) Click the third tab at top: system tuneup
On the left, click the fourth tab: startup manager
Remove unnecessary items (keep enabled antivirus and processor items)

Keep us informed.

Try:

1) Windows start, all programs, accessories, open command prompt - elevated privileges needed, from windows vista and later OS:

  • Inside the black screen that appears write (or, better, copy-paste the following):

cleanmgr /sageset:1 (press enter key on our keyboard)

  • Select/tick every option that appears (or choose the options that you prefer), click ok
  • Inside the black screen that appears write (or, better, copy-paste the following):
  • cleanmgr /sagerun:1 (press enter key on our keyboard)
  • wait until it finishes
2) Launch sfc /scannow from the same command prompt (Windows xp installation cd needed)

3) Launch defrag c: -f -v from the same command prompt (only if the system is stable and there aren't BSODs)

OK I think I have found the problem I just don't know how to fix it.

When I go to (taskschd.msc) , Task Scheduler I get this; Task image is corrupt & then all of these; MS Win disk diagnostic collector,

MC update

LP remove

WSH reset

MP scheduled scan

all corrupt or have been moved.

Could this be the problem & if so can you help?

Thanks,BD
