A newbie (to Wise) question:  What is "lock?"  I'm hoping it has something to do with hiding,  When I hide a folder it doesn't hide at all, just camouflages itself"  the "hidden" file is a subfolder under a Hide Folder folder under a gibberish named folder.

Hey Rod B,

Thanks.

The Lock means whether you have set up second password for this file/folder.

What is the perfect hidden tool in your mind? Can't see by any other programs? It is impossible.

Wise Folder Hider Free, is a free tool, just provide a simple way to hide file/folder, normally most people can't find the hidden file/folder, even if the Folder Option - Show hidden files, folders, and drives is selected. But, some advanced users can see the hidden file via special tool.

We have Wise Folder Hider Pro, it provides higher security, a hidden file even if be seen via a tool, but it can't be opened without your permission..

Thanks.

No, disk defragmentation won't corrupt the hidden files/folders.

I have a folder on a USB drive that I keep hidden. Today, I needed to access it to move some new files into it, but when I tried to hide it again, I received an error screen that simply said:

"Cannot Hide Folder. Error message:"

Weirdly, there was nothing after 'Error message.' Thanks for any help.

Robert

Hey,

Please check if a file is in use.

Before you hide a folder, you should ensure all files in that folder are not in use.

Will it be possible to add a "minimize to taskbar" option? Sometimes I close the software thinking it'll still be active in the taskbar and it closes completely.

THanks!

Input to the Login-Window

After displaying the login window it would be nice if the program automatically positions the cursor in the password input field.

Hello friends.

Restoring files o folders from the recycle bin previously deleted from a hidden folder make it visible inside the old directory even with the target folder hidden. :(

Try yourself please!!

I run Windows 7 64 bits up to date

Hey artistasur,

Thanks for your feedback.

But it is difficult to make the restored file/folder invisible, we don't have a solution yet.

My suggestion, when you delete a file/folder (and you are sure you don't use it again), press Shif + Del keys to delete. Or, empty recycle bin

Hey artistasur,

If the file was deleted accidentally, then ensure the 'hidden' folder is visible when restoring the file. Then Windows does not create a new un-hidden folder.

Hallo,

I'm using Wise Folder Hider 3.39 with Windows 10. Since a long time, on this system I hide/unhide a folder stored on USB-stick.I need the unhidden files on an isolated system running Windows XP (this system is required because of an old application that is not developed further on). Today WFH does not show the hidden of USB-stick folder anymore, neither on Win 10 nor on Win XP.

My questions: what did I do wrong and what can I do to see my folder again? When using WDR for the hidden folder it shows me 'lost' (most files), 'very poor' (few files) and 'good' (again few files), but all those 'good' files have zero bytes size. In addition, I should say that neither Win 10 nor Win XP has been updated in the last months.

In advance thank you for any help.

kk

Sorry for my yesterday post. Today I can answer my question myself: today everything runs like expected. No idea what was going on yesterday. I had tried it several times without success but today everything is OK. I do not know why it happened yesterday. But I assume that the problems will not appear anymore.

Again thank you very much.

kk

kk_in_zdf: glad you solved it...

Sometimes, restarting explorer or windows solves strange problems. :)

Hi. :)

I uninstalled wise folder hider pro 3.36 (?), taken away from a giveaway in June 2016.
I used windows control panel, uninstall a program.

Problems in the latest version of wise folder hider free:
1) "Encrypt file" button isn't translatable
2) When changing the language from English to Italian, the two buttons "Hide folder" and "Hide USB drive" don't contain the translations (the text of the second button overlaps the USB icon, like the text of the first one, but in this latter one there are less letters and the icon is still visible).
3) In drive D: (where I hid a folder with wise folder hider pro) I can see the hidden folder "....". I don't think I should see it: I didn't see it before.
4) When I try to hide the same folder, I get the error message "Can't hide the folder. Error message: Failed to load WiseFs".
5) I rebooted, but I got the same problems.

Questions:
Must I register WiseFs64.sys in c:\windows?
Shouldn't wise folder hider installer register WiseFs64.sys by itself?
Shouldn't WiseFs64.sys stay in c:\windows\system32 or in c:\windows\syswow64?
(The same question for the SYS files of your other programs: WiseRegNotify.sys, WiseUnlock64.sys, WiseTdiFw64.sys... But that's another matter)
