2 requests,

1) When hiding folder/s, the folders are 'hidden' as they should be, why not automatically 'return' the folders when 'Unhide' is esecuted. I need to use the 'refresh comand' to make the folders visible again, else they remain hidden.

2) There are the double protection by locking the hidden folders as well, why not the facility to only 'lock' a file or folder, but NOT hide it as an option since it is already programed to do so, the product would be more apealing and useful.

Thank you.

I got the Pro version on Bits du Jour several weeks ago, and it worked fine since installing--until today, when the folder I had hidden was no longer listed in the program and was unhidden. When attempting to re-hide the folder I get the error box that states: "Can't hide the folder. Error Message:" and there is no error message given. Nothing has changed about the folder or its attributes.

Many HDD encrypted programs are lost when the drive is defragged. What is the status of Wise hidden folders after the drive has been defragged?

@xmplar,

Don't worry about it.

Even you defrag the disk, the hidden files/folders are still hidden, and won't be lost.

You can test it.

Wise Folder Hider:

If there is anything (file/folder/usb) in the hider, it is still possible that some other user may uninstall or remove the program.

Hence, if anything is in the hider, the hider should not be allowed to be un-installed or deleted. If such attempt is made, it should give message that the system cannot remove the program.

Or anything that would protect the hidden items.

@iamwise,

Don't worry about it.

Even you uninstall the program, the hidden file/folder won't be removed. Just need to reinstall wise folder hider, you can see the hidden file/folder.

Thank you for your suggestion, we will consider it.

Wise Folder Hider

Its a very useful tool. Simple and easy and light weight tool.

Please advise how to change the password?

Once password is set, i'm unable to change it for a system even after uninstalling and reinstalling it

Is there is any possibility to change the password? Please advise.

@Dreddy,

Please click the little Inverted triangle, click Unhide, then the file/folder will be seen in Windows Explorer.

Hello and thanks for listening to my request. I hide and unhide several folders each day and it seem each time I unhide hidden folder it disappears from the list, so if I want to hide it again I have to browse for folders again!! Could you make it so that once you put a folder on the list it will stay there for me  to hide or unhide until I delete it from the list?  After  using an undeleted folder, it would be nice to just go back into WFH , select the folder or file from the list and hide it again without having to browse for it, just a suggestion,  Thank You  ,  johnny1

Hi Johnny1,

Actually, I understand your idea. I'm not sure whether most people want this feature. But I will send it to our team, if they think it is a nice idea, they will add it in next version.
Thank you very much!

I would also like this feature as well. It would be nice to add folders that I want to hide or unhide in the list, but not disappear after I select unhide. Maybe add a delete button next to the hide/unhide dropdown. Also if I unhide a folder and close the application, I would like the folder to stay unhidden, until I open the app again to hide it.

Great little app, thanks!

If other programs are unable to see my hidden files, what will be the effect during backup - will they not be backed up? A.) with drive/partition backup and B.) selective backup (e.g. My Documents only backup).

Thank you.

Hey maj,

If you hide a file/folder from My Documents, when you back up My Documents, the hidden file/folder will not be backed up. But, if you back up drive/partition, the hidden file/folder will also be backed up.

Hey ADJ,

Sorry for the delay.

Can you tell me more details?

1, Your OS details. Win 7/8/10? 32bit or 64 bit?

2, UAC settings (user account control settings)

3, What is the correct address of the file that you want to hide? (please copy and paste in here)

Thanks.
