Hi masmococa! :)

1) Uninstall skype.exe

2) Download wise registry cleaner portable (click), extract it, (scan it with your antivirus), start it, click settings (top-right corner), tick deep, click ok, click start scan, wait until it finishes (about 2 minutes), click start cleaning, close it.

3) Press both windows key and R key on your keyboard (windows + R), type cmd, press enter key on your keyboard, it will appear a black window --> command prompt.

Or click start, programs, accessories, command prompt.

Or start, run, type cmd, press enter key on your keyboard.

Type in it sfc /scannow, press enter key on your keyboard, wait until it finishes (about 40 minutes).

4) Re-try to install skype: download it from here (click), (scan it with your antivirus), double click it and follow the instructions.

5) Does it work? Well, good job! Doesn't it work? Continue to read.

6) Have you installed kies - samsung software - on your pc? If you don't need it, uninstall it.

Later, check if avrt.dll (usually inside c:\windows\system32) is the original from microsoft or not (or check if it is the right version for your windows xp sp3).

If it is not, check if you have other copies of it inside your pc (you could do a search) and if you find the correct one, you should substitute it (move the incorrect one to another place, put the correct onein windows\system32).

7) Still not solved? From the command prompt (you know how to open it, see point 3), type: rename c:\windows\system32\avrt.dll c:\windows\system32\avrt.dxl and press the enter key on your keyboard.

Looking forward for your kind feedback!
