My pc will play audio and programs but not dvds. I pulled up media center and tried doing it manually because it won't detect it otherwise on its own.. When I do it shows a little disc icon briefly and then says media center can't detect dvd please insert.

Available physical memory: 958 MB

Chances are you deleted a file necessary for your DVD drive to work. Try the following:
RIGHT click on "My Computer"
Click on "Properties"
Click on "Hardware"
Click on "Device Manager"
Click on the '' + " sign next to the entry for CD/DVD drives
Find the drive that isn't working and right click on it.
Choose "Uninstall" and follow through on doing that.
Exit from there, and reboot the computer.
Windows should "see" the drive as "new hardware" and reinstall the drivers for the drive.
Now try a DVD in the drive again.
Good luck
