In Windows 8 explorer how do I hide the properties pane - it is annoying because it takes up too much space and I never use it as if I need the properties I can right click a file. I dont remember it being there when I first installed but I can find any option in the view tab or settings that lets me hide it

A large number of entries have gone missing from the add remove dialogue in windows 8. I have tried a few third party uninstallers which find one or two more but that is all.
Most I have solved by re-installing the software concerned but I have sevearl pieces of software which were on time limited give away license codes and cant afford to buy these products. Is there any way to force windows to "rebuild" the add remove programmes list. Most are programmes I know did have entries before I had to do a full restore from back up image - they were there at first but I had a mad hour where i removed about 30 software programmes I didnt want and next time I went back all the remainder had dissappeared (even Microsoft software like office - though I was able to reinstall that ok)
