    7. if this still does not help. then run the Microsoft fix it tool here:

  2. please try the following suggestions to check the Windows Installer.

First, please see if the program can be installed in Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue.

If the issue persists, please continue:

    1. Quit all Windows programs.

    2. Click Start, type Run in the Search box and then press Enter, type msiexec /unregister in the Open box, and then click OK.

    3. Click Start, type Run in the Search box and then press Enter, type msiexec /regserver in the Open box, and then click OK.

    4. Restart your computer.

If the issue still exists, please perform System File Checker by the steps below:

    1. Insert the Windows 7 installation DVD into the DVD-ROM; Click Exit if the auto-menu pops up.

    2. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

    3.  At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    sfc /scannow

For more information, please refer to this knowledge base (KB) article: How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

    Hope this helps.

  3. Hi,

If you have Windows xp and service pack 3 and are experiencing difficulties with having no sound after a fresh installation, try this,it works 1) Open Reg-edit and go to :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Windows\CDS Version
    2) Double-click CDS Version and change it to 200, then restart your system.
    100 (hex) means its sp1
    200 (hex) means its sp2
    300 (hex) means its sp3
    3) Install kb888111xp2.exe (Microsoft UAA Patch which should be available from your Audio driver folder)
    4) Install audio driver
    5) Change CSD Version back to 300 (remember this or else you system will think it's still SP2 and many SP2 updates may reemerge in your Windows Update, that's my logical guess anyway  )
    6) Restart your system

I hope it will be help you.
